How to Put a Spotify Link in Your Instagram or TikTok Bio (Song, Playlist or Artist Profile)
October 27, 2026 · 7 min read
Copy the right Spotify link for a song, album, playlist or artist profile, then add it to your Instagram or TikTok bio. TikTok's link rules and fixes inside.
Quick answer: In Spotify, open the song, album, playlist or artist, tap the three dots, tap Share, then copy the link. On Instagram, go to Edit profile, Links, Add external link, and paste it. On TikTok, go to Edit profile, Links, and add it as your website, which as of October 2026 needs 1,000 followers or a Registered Business Account.
Which Spotify link should you put in your bio?
Spotify gives every song, album, playlist and artist its own URL, and they behave differently in a bio. Pick the one that matches what you want people to do.
| Link type | URL starts with | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Song (track) | open.spotify.com/track/ | A new single or the song you are promoting this week | Goes stale after the campaign, so swap it later |
| Album or EP | open.spotify.com/album/ | A full release | Fans land on the tracklist, not a specific song |
| Playlist | open.spotify.com/playlist/ | Curators, DJs, creators sharing a mood or a weekly list | Must be public, or other people cannot open it |
| Artist profile | open.spotify.com/artist/ | Musicians who want follows and a permanent link | Less direct for a launch than a track link |
Checked October 2026. If you are an artist and only want one permanent link, use your artist profile. If you are pushing a release, use the track or album link and change it when the next one comes out.
How do I copy a Spotify link on my phone?
- Open the Spotify app and go to the song, album, playlist or artist.
- Tap the three dots. Spotify's help notes they are vertical on iPhone and horizontal on Android. On an artist profile, they sit next to the Follow button under the name.
- Tap Share.
- Tap Copy link.
The copied URL often ends in a question mark followed by "si=" and a code. That is a share identifier. The link works with or without it, so you can leave it or trim everything from the question mark onward for a tidier URL.
A small number of people get a short link that starts with spotify.link instead of open.spotify.com. A Spotify moderator described that format as a limited test. If a site or tool rejects it, open it in your browser and copy the full open.spotify.com address from the address bar.
How do I copy a Spotify link on desktop?
- In the Spotify desktop app or the web player, right-click the song, album, playlist or artist, or click its three dots.
- Choose Share.
- Click Copy Link. The label changes slightly depending on what you picked, for example Copy Song Link or Copy link to playlist.
Send it to your phone (a note, an email to yourself, or a message), because both Instagram and TikTok only let you edit bio links in the mobile app.
How do I add a Spotify link to my Instagram bio?
- Open Instagram, tap your profile picture, then tap Edit profile.
- Tap Links, then Add external link.
- Paste your Spotify URL and add a title such as "New single" or "Listen on Spotify".
- Tap Done, go back to your profile and tap the link to test it.
As of October 2026 every Instagram account can add up to five links, but your profile shows only the first one, followed by a count of the rest. Put the link you care about most at the top. Our guide to adding multiple links to your Instagram bio covers ordering and fixes.
Instagram also has a separate Music option in Edit profile that adds a song clip of up to 30 seconds from Instagram's own music library to your profile. It plays a preview inside Instagram. It is not a Spotify link, so use it alongside your link, not instead of it. Availability can vary by account type, so check Edit profile in your own app.
How do I add a Spotify link to my TikTok bio?
- Open TikTok, tap Profile, then tap Edit profile.
- Tap Add next to Links. On some versions this field is labeled Website.
- Choose the website option, paste your Spotify URL and save.
- Tap the link on your profile once to check it opens.
The catch is eligibility. As of October 2026, TikTok offers the website link to accounts with 1,000 or more followers or a Registered Business Account, meaning a business account that has passed TikTok's business verification. If you do not see the option, that is usually why. A Spotify URL typed into your bio text, captions or comments will not be clickable. Our TikTok bio link guide explains the business account trade-offs, including the smaller music library, in detail.
Does TikTok connect to Spotify in other ways?
Yes, two features help even before you have a bio link.
- Add to Music App. When a video uses a released song, TikTok shows an Add Song button by the track name. Spotify says fans who set Spotify as their default service can save the song to their Liked Songs without leaving TikTok. It launched in late 2023 and Spotify reported expanding it to most of its markets in 2024. For artists, this is a reason to make sure your releases reach TikTok through your distributor, so videos using your sound point to the real track.
- Share to TikTok from Spotify. Since November 2024, Spotify lets you share a song, podcast or audiobook from the Share menu straight to TikTok as a post (green screen or Photo Mode) or as a direct message. People who tap it land on Spotify.
Neither replaces a bio link. They help people find the song from a video. The bio link is where someone goes after they decide they want more.
Why one Spotify link is often not enough
A Spotify link only works well for people who use Spotify. Your followers are split across Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal and others, and someone who pays for Apple Music will often not bother searching for your song. You also probably have more than one thing to share: the new single, a playlist, merch, tour dates, your other socials.
A link page solves both. On lit.bio you can:
- Add a music smart link. Paste one Spotify or Apple Music link to a track, album or artist, and lit.bio builds a listen-anywhere block with buttons for the other services the release is on. Details are in our music smart link guide.
- Embed a Spotify player. Paste a track, album, playlist or artist link into an Embed block and the Spotify player shows on your page. This is the best option for playlists, which only exist on Spotify. Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube and TikTok embeds work the same way.
- Keep one URL everywhere. Put lit.bio/yourname in your Instagram and TikTok bios and update the page, not every profile, on release day.
The free plan includes up to 10 links (embeds and text blocks do not count toward that), every theme, 7-day analytics and a QR code, with no ads. Free pages show a small "Create your own free page" link. Pro is $9 a month or $49 once if you want unlimited links and branding removed. lit.bio does not run pre-save campaigns, so if you need pre-saves before a release, a tool like Feature.fm is the better fit for that part.
Why is my Spotify link not working in my bio?
- Private playlist. Make the playlist public in Spotify, or visitors see an error.
- Partial URL. Paste the full address starting with https://.
- Cut-off link. If part of the URL got lost when you sent it to your phone, copy a fresh one from Spotify.
- Opens in a browser. Instagram and TikTok use their own in-app browser. Fans can tap through to the Spotify app from the Spotify page.
- No website field on TikTok. See the eligibility rules above.
Going the other way
This guide is about getting fans from Instagram and TikTok to Spotify. If you want to add your Instagram and TikTok to your Spotify artist profile, see how to add social links to your Spotify artist profile. If you would rather not choose between Spotify and Apple Music, make a free lit.bio page and paste your Spotify link as your first block.
