Popl Alternative for Individuals: Free Card, No App (2026)
October 3, 2026 · 6 min read
A free Popl alternative for individuals. Where Popl wins (NFC, lead capture, CRM, teams), approximate 2026 prices, and when a free no-app card page fits better.
Quick answer: Popl is built for sales teams and event lead capture: NFC cards, Wallet sharing, CRM integrations and team admin. If that is what you need, stay with Popl, because lit.bio offers none of it. If you are an individual who wants a free card that anyone can save without an app, and that also works as your link in bio, lit.bio is a sensible free Popl alternative. It is free to start, and Pro is $9 a month or $49 once. One caution: Popl's pricing page blocked our checks, so the Popl prices below come from third-party listings and are marked as unverified.
What does Popl cost? (unverified, October 2026)
We tried popl.co/pages/pricing several times on 3 October 2026 and were refused each time (the site returned a rate-limit error), so we could not confirm these numbers on Popl's own page. Third-party listings, mainly a January 2026 breakdown, show roughly this:
- Free: about one card profile, shared by QR code or link, with Popl branding and no lead capture.
- Pro: about $7.99 a month, or roughly $6.40 to $6.50 a month billed annually (sources disagree on the exact figure). Up to 3 cards, basic lead capture and Zapier integrations.
- Pro+: about $14.99 a month, or roughly $11.99 a month billed annually. Up to 5 cards, custom lead forms and AI tools.
- Teams: last publicly listed at about $5 per user a month ($4 billed annually) with a 5-user minimum. Third parties report that Popl now quotes team and event pricing through a sales call.
- NFC products: Popl sells NFC cards and accessories. We could not verify their prices.
Treat every Popl number here as approximate and check Popl's live pricing page before you decide.

Who Popl is built for
Popl's own site leads with teams: its digital business card page is pitched as a platform for teams, and much of its product is about capturing leads at events and pushing them into a CRM. The free card is a starting point, and the paid tiers add lead tools. That makes Popl a strong fit for a sales rep working a trade show booth, or a company handing cards to fifty employees. It is a weaker fit for a freelancer, creator or solo professional who mostly meets people one at a time and also needs a link for their social profiles. For that person, a free page with a QR code and a Save contact button may cover everything they actually use.
Where Popl is better
- NFC hardware. Popl sells tap-to-share cards and accessories. lit.bio has no NFC products and no NFC support.
- Wallet and widgets. Popl's own pages describe sharing through Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, Apple Watch and phone widgets. lit.bio has no Wallet pass.
- Event lead capture. This is Popl's core business: capturing and organizing leads at trade shows and conferences. lit.bio has nothing comparable.
- CRM integrations. Popl's site lists Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Microsoft Dynamics and marketing automation tools. lit.bio has no CRM.
- Team admin. Card templates, subteams, SSO and team analytics. lit.bio has no team or multi-profile plans.
- Email signatures and multiple cards. Popl offers QR email signatures, and its paid tiers reportedly allow 3 to 5 cards. lit.bio has one page per account and no signature tool.
Where lit.bio is better
- Your card is your link in bio. Up to 10 links and 50+ social icons sit on the same page as your contact details, so one URL works on a printed card and in every social bio.
- No app on either side. You build the page in a browser. The person you meet scans your QR code and taps Save contact to get a vCard with your name, title, company, phone, email, website, address and photo.
- The full design kit is free. All 12 themes, 12 fonts, every button style, three layouts and a frosted glass panel option are on the free plan.
- A one-time price. Pro is $49 once. If Popl Pro is about $6.40 a month billed annually, that is roughly $77 every year.
- Creator features. Free music smart links and background music, and on Pro, tips, paid subscriptions, locked content, a booking calendar, a contact form, email capture and tracking pixels.
lit.bio's limits
lit.bio has no NFC, no Wallet pass, no teams, no CRM and no lead capture at events. The free plan stops at 10 links; Pro is unlimited. Custom domains are not available yet, though they are on the roadmap. Tips and locked content carry a flat 10% platform fee plus Stripe processing, and paid subscriptions carry no platform fee. Free pages show a small "Create your own free page" link at the bottom. lit.bio is also a newer, smaller product than Popl.
How to switch from Popl to lit.bio
- Export your leads and contacts from Popl first, using whatever export or CRM sync your plan includes.
- Claim lit.bio/yourname and open the contact card settings.
- Enter your details: name, job title, company, phone, email, website and address. A Save contact button appears on your page.
- Add the links from your Popl profile, up to 10 on Free.
- Print your new QR code. Download it free and put it on cards, badges and booth signs. Our QR code business card guide covers sizing.
- Test Save contact on a couple of phones before your next event.
What you lose: tapping with your Popl NFC card, Wallet sharing, lead capture, CRM sync and team features. If your company pays for Popl, keep it for work and use a free lit.bio page as your personal card and link in bio.
Which should you choose?
Choose Popl if you capture leads at events, want NFC hardware, or roll cards out to a sales team. Choose lit.bio if you are one person who wants a free card that is also your link in bio, with no app for anyone.
