Free Link in Bio Tools: What Each Free Plan Includes (October 2026)
October 3, 2026 · 8 min read
Linktree, Beacons, Lnk.Bio, Carrd, lit.bio and 5 more free link in bio plans compared: links, branding, analytics, selling fees and domains, October 2026.
Quick answer: As of October 2026, Linktree, Beacons, Lnk.Bio, Taplink, Milkshake, hoo.be and Campsite.bio all give you unlimited links for free. solo.to gives 25 and lit.bio gives 10. None of the ten removes its own branding for free. The real differences are selling fees, analytics history and what each free plan locks away.
We checked each tool's own pricing page in early October 2026. A few sites block automated visits, so for those we read a recent archived copy of the official page. This guide replaces our 2025 roundup of Linktree alternatives, which no longer matched the market. lit.bio is our product. It is in the table with its limits stated plainly, and it is not ranked first, because on raw free-plan generosity it is not first. Plans change often, so check each tool's live pricing page before you commit.

| Campsite.bio | Unlimited | Campsite branding; removal from Pro, $7/mo | 14 days plus totals | PayPal and Venmo tip links, "0% for a limited time" | No (Pro, $7/mo) | Tip links |
| lit.bio | 10 | Small "Create your own free page" link, no ads; removal on Pro, $9/mo or $49 once | 7 days | No selling on free (tips and locked content are Pro, at 10%) | Not on any plan yet | Save contact vCard button, QR code, all 12 themes, music smart links |
Selling fees are the platform's own cut. Payment processing from Stripe or PayPal comes on top on every tool. None of these tools says it shows third-party ads on free pages; the price of free is branding, not ads.
Who wins each column
- Most links: a seven-way tie on unlimited. solo.to's 25 comes next. lit.bio's 10 is the lowest cap in the table.
- Longest free analytics: Milkshake and solo.to (30 days), then Linktree (28) and Campsite (14). lit.bio keeps 7 days.
- Lowest selling fee on free: Lnk.Bio at 5%. Beacons and hoo.be take 9%, Linktree and Milkshake 12%.
- Cheapest way to remove branding: Carrd at $9 a year, then Milkshake at $2.99 a month, then Lnk.Bio at $24.99 once.
- Custom domain: no free plan includes one. The cheapest paid routes are Carrd ($19 a year) and Campsite ($7 a month). lit.bio has no custom domains yet; they are on the roadmap.
Which free plan fits you
You want the most links. Pick any of the seven unlimited plans. Linktree pairs unlimited links with the longest analytics among the big names (28 days). Lnk.Bio adds hundreds of templates and the cheapest one-time upgrade. If you have more than 10 links and do not want to pay, lit.bio's free plan is the wrong pick.
You want to sell. Beacons gives free users a full digital product store at a 9% fee. Lnk.Bio's shop takes 5%, the lowest platform fee here. hoo.be takes 9%, and Linktree and Milkshake take 12%. If you will pay a little, Carrd's $19-a-year plan adds Stripe and PayPal buttons, and we found no Carrd fee on those sales. lit.bio's free plan has no built-in selling. Links to your own shop or products carry no fee on any plan. On Pro, tips and locked content carry a flat 10% fee plus Stripe processing, and paid subscriptions carry no platform fee.
You care most about design. Carrd gives the most layout freedom, though the free plan has element limits and the branding stays. Lnk.Bio has 577 templates. lit.bio puts its whole design kit on the free plan: all 12 themes, 12 fonts, every button style, three layouts, a frosted glass panel, glow icons, a header photo and background music with an optional tap-to-enter screen.
You need a business card too. lit.bio's free plan includes a Save contact button. You fill in your name, title, company, phone, email, website and address, and visitors get a vCard with your photo, with no app needed on either side. Add the free QR code and the page works as a card. Linktree offers a contact details vCard link and a wallet card from its share menu, though we could not confirm which plans include them, and Beacons lists a QR code and an Apple Wallet card. If you need NFC hardware or team admin, a dedicated card app fits better; we compared them in the best free digital business card apps.
You are a musician. lit.bio's free music smart links turn a pasted Spotify or Apple Music link into a "listen anywhere" block, and you can upload a track (MP3, M4A or OGG) to play on your page. Linktree's free plan includes music pre-save on one platform. solo.to's 25 links and 30-day stats leave room for a full discography. More ideas in our guide to link in bio for musicians.
What free plans hide
Fees on top of fees. A platform's percentage is only part of the cost. Sell a $20 download on Linktree's free plan and Linktree takes 12% ($2.40), Stripe takes 2.9% plus $0.30 ($0.88), and each payout costs $0.25. You keep about $16.72 before the payout fee. The same sale on Lnk.Bio costs $1.00 in platform fees plus processing. A $20 tip on lit.bio Pro costs $2.00 plus Stripe processing. Do this math for your own prices before you pick.
Branding that costs money to remove. Every free plan here shows the tool's name somewhere. Removal prices range from $9 a year (Carrd) to $30 a month (Beacons Creator Plus). Over two years, that is $18 on Carrd, $24.99 on Lnk.Bio, $49 on lit.bio's one-time Pro, $360 on Linktree Pro billed monthly and $720 on Beacons Creator Plus billed monthly. Several of those plans include far more than branding removal, so compare features too, not just price.
Short or shallow analytics. Free history runs from 7 to 30 days. Taplink's free plan counts page views but not clicks. Campsite's free stats leave out location, referrer and device data. Carrd has no built-in analytics at all. lit.bio's 7-day window is the shortest stated window in the table; Pro extends it to 90 days.
Quiet feature limits. Campsite's free plan only pulls images from Instagram. Milkshake can only be edited in its phone app, which is the most common complaint in its reviews. Linktree allows one featured link, hoo.be two draft pages, Beacons 50 emails and 30 AI credits a day, and lit.bio 10 links.
The plan can disappear. Free tools shut down. Bento closed in February 2026 and its links now redirect to Linktree. Shopify's Linkpop closed in July 2025 and old pages return errors. kit.co closed in May 2026, and Tap Bio is reported to close on 31 October 2026. Keep a list of your links somewhere you control. lit.bio is newer and smaller than most tools in this table, and that is worth weighing too.
Is there a completely free Linktree alternative?
If "completely free" means free forever with no card and no trial, all ten tools in the table qualify. If it means free with no branding at all, none of them do as of October 2026. Some well-known names are not free at all: Stan offers only a 14-day trial, and Later's link page now sits inside paid plans with a trial. Where lit.bio fits, honestly
lit.bio's free plan is not the most generous in this table. It caps you at 10 links, keeps 7 days of analytics, shows a small "Create your own free page" link at the bottom, has no built-in selling and offers no custom domain on any plan yet. It is also a newer, smaller product than most tools here.
What it does give free: no ads, every theme and font, a free QR code, a Save contact button with a vCard, a location pin, an optional view counter, background music, music smart links and a one-click Linktree importer. If you outgrow it, Pro is $9 a month or $49 once for unlimited links, 90-day analytics, branding removal, tracking pixels, a contact form, a booking calendar, email capture, tips, subscription tiers and locked content. See pricing or our Linktree comparison for the full picture.
